Elements Theatre Company invites you to join us for five days of theatre immersion August 7-12 on Cape Cod. Shakespeare’s King Lear provides the source material for this actors’ intensive retreat. Focused on the challenging and transformative nature of Shakespeare’s work and language, the schedule includes lectures and discussion, voice and movement workshops, scene study classes, and round table discussions, culminating in an outdoor performance of King Lear by Elements Theatre Company on August 12th.


This retreat is designed for experienced actors who want to deepen their acting skills, hone their analysis of language, and refresh and rejuvenate their craft. Teachers include Shakespearean experts:  Elizabeth Ingram, Associate Professor, Actor, and Designated Kristin Linklater voice teacher at Syracuse University; Susan Dibble, the Louis, Frances, and Jeffrey Sachar Professor of Theater Arts, Brandeis University; Walton Wilson, Chair of the Acting Department and Head of Voice and Speech, Yale University; and Danielle Dwyer, CJ, Co-founder and Artistic Director of Elements Theatre Company, Orleans, MA.


We at Elements Theatre Company, will be your hosts. We invite 20 participants, ages 18 and up, to join us and our expert panel of guest artists and educators. Accommodations and gourmet meals at Paraclete House, a beautiful retreat facility, overlooking Cape Cod Bay in Orleans, MA. www.elementstheatre.org

-     Intensive Scene Study and Acting – Walton Wilson, Yale University


-     King Lear Open Rehearsals with Elements Theatre Company, followed by discussion – Danielle Dwyer, CJ, Artistic Director Elements Theatre Company


-    Includes tickets to opening night performance of King Lear by Elements Theatre Company
