What Is the Back Stage Actors' Yellow Pages?

Performers need all kinds of products and services: headshots, acting classes, rehearsal space, accounting help, and so forth. So we decided to offer access to all these resources in a single spot. Whether you're trying to reach performers in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago or Tampa, the Actors' Yellow Pages is the most comprehensive resource for actors, dancers, and singers in North America.

What Kinds of Listings Do You Offer?

We have three types: Featured, Premium, and Basic. Featured and Premium are paid listing levels; Basic is a free option. Each are described in more detail below.

What Options Do You Offer for Paid Listings?

Paid listings share a number of great features. First, your listing appears at or near the top of search results, with a photo and brief product pitch (250 character max) that you write. When users click on the Search Results link, a personalized listing page will appear, which displays:

-- Business name, address, phone, fax, website and email links;

-- Multiple photos as well as embedded video;

-- A Google Map of your location (based on the address you choose to show)

-- An HTML-enabled field to describe your business in detail;

-- A sidebar to display quick facts, like rates and office hours.

How Are the Listings Organized?

We organize all the listings in categories and subcategories. Categories are broad types of products or services: For instance, Classes & Coaches or Headshots & Photography. Within that, we divide the category into carefully selected subcategories, such as Acting Teachers, Private Coaches, Workshops, and Summer Training.

In How Many Subcategories Can My Listing Appear?

With your listing, you can choose in which subcategories it will appear.

You'll notice I said SUBcategory . One important note: By choosing a subcategory, like "Private Coaches," you will automatically also appear in the results for the larger category Classes & Coaches. However, if you only select Classes & Coaches, your listing will not appear in the subcategory results. So we strongly encourage you to always choose subcategories that best describe your business.

The number of subcategories you choose depends on the type of listing you have chosen. Each Featured Listing can appear in up to 10 subcategories. Each Premium Listing, the next highest level, can appear in up to 5 subcategories. Basic Listings only appear in two subcategories.

Can I Personalize the URL for My Listing?

Yes! You can change the latter part of the URL to reflect the name of your business. For example: http://yellowpages.backstage.com/products/MyBusinessName

Can I Associate My Listing with Keywords to Improve Search Results?

Yes! To make it easier to find, you can associate the listing with multiple searchable keywords. For Featured Listings you're allowed 10 Keywords, and for Premium Listings you're allowed 5 keywords.

What Is a 'Featured Listing'?

A Featured Listing is a top way for businesses to stand out in the Actors' Yellow Pages. All Featured Listings appear (with a photo) in rotation on the Actors' Yellow Pages homepage. That means that actors are likely to see your ad before they search!

What's more, You can upload up to 25 photos as well as embedded video links, which will appear with your listing. Choose up to 10 subcategories and 10 keywords for better search results. And Featured Listings always appear among the top search results.

What Is a 'Premium Listing'?

A Premium Listing is a slightly scaled down paid listing. You can upload up to 10 photos as well as embedded video links, which will appear with your listing. Choose up to 5 subcategories and 5 keywords for better search results. In search results, Premium Listings will always appear just beneath Featured Listings but above Basic Listings.

What Is a 'Basic Listing'?

A Basic Listing is similar to a phone book entry -- it includes only the most basic contact info, such as business name, address, and phone number. Basic Listings appear at the bottom of any search result, and it does not link to a display page.
